Canon PIXMA MX377 mendukung fungsi print, scan, copy, fax. MX377 dilengkapi fungsi ADF ( Auto Document Feeder ) scanning maupun Flatbed, dengan fungsi ADFnya proses scan dokumen akan menjadi lebih mudah kapasitas traynya mampu menampung hingga 30 lembar kertas pada mode ADF, MX377 mundukung ukuran kertas hingga ukuran LEGAL ( 21.6x 35,6cm ) sedangkangkan untuk mode Flatbed maksimal ukuran kertas LETTER ( 21,6x27,9cm ) tidak ada peningkatan dari segi resolusi baik cetak ataupun scannya. MX377 tetap mendukung resolusi 1200x2400dpi untuk scan dan 4800x1200dpi untuk cetak seperti MX366 tetapi kecepatan scanning linenya menjadi lebih cepat dari 1.6ms/line jadi 1.1ms/line di 300dpi untuk Grayscale dan untuk color dari 4.8ms/line menjadi 3.4ms/line. Selain kecepatan scan yang lebih tinggi kemampuan printnyapun ikut ditingkatkan. MX366 mampu mencetak 4.8ipm untuk dokumen colour dan 8.4ipm untuk black/white di MX377 kemampuan cetak dokumen colournya menjadi 5.0ipm dan 8.7ipm untuk B/W namun demikian untuk print photo 4x6" MX377 membutuhkan waktu lebih lama sekitar 46 detik dibanding MX366 yang cuma 43 detik, mungkin ini pengaruh dari cartridge PG740 dan CL741 yang digunakan, karena PG740 dan CL741 memiliki jumlah nozzle yang lebih tinggi yaitu 1.792 nozzles dibanding P810 dan CL811 yang hanya 1.472 nozzles. Diharapkan MX377 menjadi printer Office dengan kualitas cetak photo dengan detail yang bagus...karena sebelumnya banyak keluhan untuk hasil cetak photo pada MX366.
